This is hands down our favorite event of the year. Who knew that Santa Rosa would be the place for a weekly outpouring of summertime funk? More than that, the setting at the Hood Mansion is idyllic and the crowd comes ready to party. We’re ready — are you?
We love Sebastopol and we love Mr. Music and most of all, we love the Peacetown Series. What better way to spend your Wednesday evening that getting down with us at Ives Park as the sun goes down.
Looking forward to playing with Solid Air. Some good, old-fashioned, original Americana. Check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=10&v=h6CFnfvHPJg
Two huge bands, both of the devastating dance variety. Mojo Green is making the trek from Reno to get the Bay all stirred up, and The Big Fit is opening up the night to make sure it’s one solid evening of chockablock funk. Come on down to the Cornerstone in Berkeley!
We’re excited to announce another show at our favorite hometown venue: the HopMonk in Sebastopol!
Last time we rocked the ‘Monk, we had the Jazz Mafia’s inimitable Heaviest Feather along for the ride. This time, we’ve got the uncontrollable and uncompromising Funk, Rock & Soul review ‘The Soul Section’ in the saddle for a git-gallop through your favorite dance tunes.
The Big Fit will swing over to the East Bay to play the wonderful tradition, The Walnut Festival. We’ve had our eye on this one but this is first time, er, cracking the scene. We think we’re going to go nuts for this one, and we think you will, too. This is a great one for the family!
Some info about the festival:
The first Festival held in 1911 was a celebration of the harvest of grapes and was called 'The Grape Festival'. During prohibition, grapes were replaced with walnuts as the cash crop of the area and the vineyards became walnut groves. In 1936, the harvest celebration became known as The Walnut Festival. The Walnut Festival Association was officially incorporated in 1938 and except for a suspended period during World War II, has been celebrated as the popular annual community event it remains today. As Walnut Creek as grown, and suburban developments have replaced walnut groves, the Walnut Festival Association has maintained the tradition of producing fundraising events for the benefit of the community. Locations for the event have changed over the years from the center of town to Civic Park and finally, in 1976, to Heather Farm Park, where it is now held the third Thursday after the first Monday in September.
Come on out to an iconic and fun venue in the tiny Marin town of Nicasio to see The Big Fit bring The Funk!
We love playing this wonderful restaurant and lounge and we can't wait to get back there to rock the house once more! Plenty of dancing room awaits you after a delicious dinner with a full bar for yummy cocktails.
Great vibe, beautiful setting, and The Funk! Doesn't get much better than that, right? See y'all there! Get your tix now!
